Our Mission

Giving Every IBC Tote a Second Life

At Grand Rapids IBC, we believe that sustainability and smart business go hand in hand. Every intermediate bulk container that passes through our facility at 902 Scribner Ave NW in Grand Rapids, Michigan, represents an opportunity to reduce waste, conserve resources, and deliver real value to businesses across the region.

We specialize in the full lifecycle of IBC totes: purchasing used containers from manufacturers and distributors, professionally cleaning and reconditioning them to meet rigorous quality standards, and reselling them to businesses that need affordable, reliable bulk storage solutions. When a tote has reached the end of its usable life, we break it down and recycle every component — from the HDPE plastic bottle to the steel cage and wooden pallet.

Our work keeps thousands of containers out of landfills each year, reduces the demand for virgin plastic production, and provides our customers with cost savings of 60–80% compared to purchasing new IBC totes. That is the kind of impact we are proud to deliver.

Company Overview

More Than a Container Company

Grand Rapids IBC is a vertically integrated IBC tote reconditioning and recycling operation headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Founded with the conviction that industrial packaging should never be single-use, we have grown into the Midwest's most trusted provider of reconditioned intermediate bulk containers. Our facility on Scribner Avenue serves as the central hub for all operations, including collection, inspection, cleaning, reconditioning, storage, and distribution.

We operate across the entire IBC supply chain. On the sourcing side, we maintain active purchasing relationships with over 100 manufacturers, food processors, chemical distributors, and agricultural operations throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin. These partners provide a steady stream of used IBC totes that we collect through our optimized logistics network, minimizing transportation costs and environmental impact.

On the output side, we serve an equally diverse customer base. Small farms purchase individual totes for water storage and fertilizer handling. Craft breweries use our food-grade reconditioned IBCs for ingredient transport. Large chemical manufacturers rely on us for consistent, high-volume supply of quality-inspected containers. No matter the scale, every customer receives the same level of quality assurance and service.

Our business model is inherently circular. We buy used containers, recondition them, sell them back into productive use, and when they eventually reach end-of-life, we disassemble and recycle every component. Nothing we handle ends up in a landfill. This closed-loop system is not only environmentally responsible but also economically efficient, allowing us to offer pricing that undercuts new container costs by 60 to 80 percent.
